Darrick Patterson Bio

Darrick Patterson is no stranger to television and film production. At an very early age, he participated in a Youth Video Workshop in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was introduced to this field and quickly discovered it would be his passion. During his four year involvement with the workshop program, Darrick's obvious talents afforded him the opportunity to write, direct, shoot and produce several professional projects in the city, from Corporate Videos to Public Service Announcements. His achievements garnered him considerable media attention. These stand out accomplishments motivated him to continue to pursue this career path.

Darrick attended North Central High school in Indianapolis. There he took radio and television classes at the school's exceptional career center. Darrick honed his skills while being a Disc Jokey on the school's radio station and producing student programming for the school's cable access channel. One highlight during his senior year was when Darrick won second place in the NAACP ACTSO (Academic, Cultural, Technological, Scientific Olympics) competition - video category. Students from across the country competed in this event.

Upon graduation, Darrick attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. He studied Direction and Cinematography with the acclaimed instructor Dr. Herbert Eichelberger who taught such talents as Spike Lee, Monty Ross and Bryan Barber. Darrick obtained a  BA in Radio/ Television / Film and received an outstanding achievement award from the Clark Atlanta Mass Media Department.

Darrick has since gone on to build an impressive professional resume which lists several multi media production companies and television networks, including CNN. While at CNN, Darrick received some of his most valuable career experience as an Editor / Producer. In pursuit of his Directorial aspirations, Darrick decided to create dapa Entertainment LLC! To attain the independent production goals of the company, Darrick selectively assembled a stellar team of talented individuals, including his celebrity makeup artist wife, Quintessence, who also doubles as a Producer for dapa. 

One can truly say that dapa entertainment embodies Darrick's life long passion, dedication and commitment to his craft. Armed with creativity and experience, dapa Entertainment is on the move and plans to bring great visuals to the screen. Darrick Patterson is one to watch out for!
